5th and Grand

So, I had a rough trip over, but I couldn’t help but get secretly excited when I arrived at the hotel. I didn’t take many pictures of inside but it was a gorgeous historic building. It reminded me of Versailles.
Monday: the first night we stayed in due to we both had extremely long days. We ordered some super over priced room service, not that exciting.
Tuesday: We woke up early (11am) and adventured around downtown LA (didn’t leave until 1pm ish). Assuming downtown would be like Vancouver’s downtown, we walked everywhere. Well, to our dismay it definitely wasn’t. The “Fashion” and “Jewlery” district reminded us of, well, Hastings street where all the homeless people sell their stolen crap. I’m sure it was at one point amazing. We eventually walked to main street and turned down 6th street and found some pretty amazing stores. (Crack gallery, Stanton and James, Bliss) We then found a salon that did feather hair extensions. So, we each got one on our hair, cute, but its going to be hard for me to get my hair died again without taking it out :| Then we decided to go to Dim Mak tuesdays “The loft series” for their annual post Coachella bash. They had secret guests they announced that day and it turns out JFK of Mstrkrft was djing as well as Nero. It was pretty fun, holy babe central. Natasha and I met some dope people and some weird bro’s.
Wednesday: We adventured to Hollywood and did some shopping. We walked down Hollywood blvd and Natasha made me take pictures of nearly every other star. We went into this amazing new store that had just opened up. I can’t even remember the name of it, but it was so weird and cool and dark and artsy inside. The guy invited us to a party the store was having on saturday. We didn’t do anything at night, too exhausted and probably still hungover.
Thursday: We went down to Hollywood again. Went down the opposite side of the blvd and went to Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. There was a movie premiere happening for that shitty Family chanel movie PROM. haha, we found out The Pretty Reckless was playing for free at the Hard Rock. Decided not to go after seeing a bunch of emo 18 year olds outside. We got home later in the night and got some AMAZING japanese food at this restaurant on 7th. We went back to hotel and started predrinking then headed out to The Standard. It was a cool and on the roof of the hotel. We met some “actor” boys as well as this ed hardy bro. Weird crowd, but super cool environment.
Friday: We went to this ramen noodle place in little tokyo near union station. Not going to lie, the trek was definitely worth it. We trained down to Hollywood again and went to Sunset and then decided to go back to the hotel. Oh this homeless person followed us around all day and we didn’t realize it until we were walking down to sunset blvd. So we rain into a burger king and he like grabbed Natasha’s shoe? It was weird, but we left and booked it to a bus stop and bussed down to La Cienega and Sunset. Later that night we went to this total speak easy bar called Bar 107. It was on 4th and main. This place was amazing, mixed crowd, tall boy pbrs and some babes? Oh they had a photo booth set up that you payed two dollars for and got a strip of 4 black and white photo’s. So cute! Every third song or so the DJ played The Talking Heads. I nearly died, so good.
Saturday: We went down to Melrose and shopped alllll day. Amazing stores, some cheap vintage ones. (Wasteland, American Vintage)  We then headed to Santa Monica but the hour long bus ride got us there at 6pm, the last express bus headed downtown left at 7pm. So we just sat at the beach and hung out. Tonight was that store party. We got home, ate dinner, got ready and predrank. Before we knew it, it was 11:30pm and we didn’t feel like going. So we went back to Bar 107 again. Took some more photo booth pictures, danced, met some boys.
Sunday: We were sad girls as we left and went home.
All in all it was amazing. LA inspires me like nothing else has before! Oh, and people are nice there, like, they actually want to talk to you? SO weird eh. I think I’m going to have to make it an annual trip.
